This is the second transaction in the country, the first to be finalised by ETF III – FIEE SGR’s third fund – and to be coordinated by FIEE’s Spanish office, which was established in Madrid in 2024. The investment is aimed at supporting the company’s development plan, which has a pipeline of 18 projects and aims to achieve an annual biomethane production of 1 TWh. This marks an entry into a strategic sector for Europe’s energy transition, achieved in a market – such as Spain’s – which already ranks fourth on the continent in terms of the development prospects for biofuels. ABE Capital, a Spanish private equity fund that is already an investor in Naturmet via Grupo Oleofat, is also participating in the transaction.
